Ingredients
- Bread: 5 slices
- Gram flour: 2 tbsp
- Cumin powder: half tsp
- Chilli powder: 1tsp
- Ajwain/ Carom seeds: half tsp
- Chopped coriander: 1 tbsp
- Baking soda: A pinch
- Salt to taste
Method
- STEP 1 In a bowl, to a cup of warm water, add all the ingredients to prepare the batter of thick consistency.
- STEP 2 On a frying pan, roast the bread with ghee until it turns golden brown and crisp.
- STEP 3 Cut the toasted bread into little squares and dip it in the prepared batter to coat the bread uniformly.
- STEP 4 Shallow fry until golden brown.
- STEP 5 Tastes best when served hot with mint chutney.
