Ajwain Bread Crunch


  • Bread: 5 slices
  • Gram flour: 2 tbsp
  • Cumin powder: half tsp
  • Chilli powder: 1tsp
  • Ajwain/ Carom seeds: half tsp
  • Chopped coriander: 1 tbsp
  • Baking soda: A pinch
  • Salt to taste


  • STEP 1 In a bowl, to a cup of warm water, add all the ingredients to prepare the batter of thick consistency.
  • STEP 2 On a frying pan, roast the bread with ghee until it turns golden brown and crisp.
  • STEP 3 Cut the toasted bread into little squares and dip it in the prepared batter to coat the bread uniformly.
  • STEP 4 Shallow fry until golden brown.
  • STEP 5 Tastes best when served hot with mint chutney.
